When not working, Jaspreet can be found immersed in nature walks, being a soccer mom to her boy, obsessively listening to music, and self-proclaiming herself as an avid movie-buff. An alumnus of the prestigious IIMC Radio & TV Journalism programme, Vasu has been an integral part of radio newsrooms in Canada and India. From covering Commonwealth Games 2010 (and the related scams) for All India Radio to reporting on elections in Canada, he brings a wide range of experience to Connect News.

Born in the small town of Nakodar, Punjab, educated in Chandigarh and New Delhi, and now living and working in BC, Vasu has a deep understanding of the social fibre of our community and the relevant skill-set to cater to it’s expectations.

Besides (and sometimes during) heading an energetic team of news reporters and newsreaders at Connect, Vasu can be spotted in local cafes reading a book (anything ranging from George Orwell to Yuval Noah Harari) on his iPad Pro, constantly alt-tabbing to a battery of news websites. Now here’s a voice that you could not have missed! With over 18 years of experience, Vijay Saini has been an avid broadcaster and has worked in both on and off-air capacities. He has contributed much of his craft as a voiceover artist, music show host, and talk show host and a creative copywriter. Vijay has also trained and mentored many professional on-air personalities and even acted in films!

Both professionally and personally, Vijay is a man of nuance and chooses substance over flamboyance. For him, a holistic approach to current affairs, news, and politics is important. His willingness to always hear a counter argument makes him an excellent dialogue convener and he engages criticality amongst his listeners. His motto: fairness and balance.

Off air, Vijay has a deep interest in poetry, intrigued by the way words come together to dance in unison. He often says that his craft is his hobby, as he is originally a banker turned broadcaster who loved his hobby so much, he turned it into his career! While he doesn’t do it much, Vijay loves to cook, so when he does, it’s got to be special. He thrives in the outdoors and is a gym enthusiast.
